Zhang Lei, born in August 1977, graduated from the School of Fine Arts, Nanjing Normal University in 1999, majoring in decorative art. In the same year, she was recommended for admission to the same school as a graduate student, majoring in decorative art design and research. She obtained a Master’s degree in Fine Arts. She now is a member of Jiangsu Artists Association and the Art Display & Decoration Committee of Architecture and Culture Society of China.
Since 2002, she has taught in the Institute of Art and Design, School of Architecture, Southeast University. Her research directions are interior design and interior furnishings design. She also devotes herself to the teaching of visual design foundation and interior furnishing design. She once hosted the open subject “Study on aesthetic evaluation and application of traditional architectural colored drawings” of “Key Laboratory of Urban and Architectural Heritage Conservation (Southeast University), Ministry of Education, China” and participated in some scientific projects including “Colorscape Guidelines of Nanjing”. Her personal work won the bronze medal of the 4th National Pen-and-Ink Competition. She published or co-wrote Sketch Tutorial for Architecture Majors, Architecture Design Sketch with Marker Pens, The Technical Pen, Introduction to Design, etc. Her multiple papers were published in core journals. She has guided her students to win gold, silver and bronze awards in the National Art Competition of Architecture and Environment Major in Colleges and Universities, and won the excellent award of CIDA College for students’ works.
